Day 120: Vienna Natural History Museum

Another cool thing about Vienna is it's cultural life. SO so so many museums, and so little time...
We went on a tour around the Natural History Museum. Impressive. ;)

Nikon D60, 18-55mm.

This is the end of Vienna photos for now. Looking forward to my next visit there, definitely a lot more to show than what I've posted by now ;))

Day 119: Taste of Vienna

Food is important, okay? So don't underestimate that. Don't overdo it either.

Life wouldn't be the same without food. Often times when I come back from a place that really impressed me, and I liked it so much that I would love to come back at least once more....oh well, almost every time it's because of the food! You know how it works - all the senses should be happy and satisfied.
That was the case last weekend in Vienna. I can absolutely recommend you go for the famous chocolate Sacher cake, or an Apple Strudel, both offered at the Sacher Hotel (www.sacher.com), just next to the Vienna Opera. The perfect place to spend a typical Austrian night at is Plachutta restaurant (www.plachutta.at), where they cook Austrian dishes and serve them with great care. Definitely try some kind of boiled meat, it's so good!
Here's a couple sneak-peaks of what we tried and loved...

Sacher chocolate cake

Apple Strudel

Home-made vanilla ice-cream with caramelized pumpkin seeds

Boiled tongue with vegetables

Day 118: Vienna by night

And here's a walk around Vienna by night.

Equally charming, and twice as magical :)))))

Day 117: The thing about Vienna is...

The thing about Vienna is you instantly fall in love with the city.
It comes like rain, but it doesn't go away with the sunshine...I mean the nice feeling...and you keep walking around breathing in serenity....and it's right in front of you, and all around you, but it's just so difficult to define which of all the things about this beautiful city make you feel just perfect, just right on time and right in place. Austria is a beautiful country, but Vienna is the cherry on top.

Here's a short photo walk around town in daylight. If you haven't been there yet, just go.

Stephan's Dom

Belvedere

The Vienna Opera

Day 116: Meet-Magdalena-Vienna

It's been almost a year since I last saw my friend Magdalena in Madrid last summer. She's one of the people I loved hanging out with all the time - be it parties, botellions, dancing, mujer de las tres, shooting around Retiro, beaching at Palma de Mallorca..........and so many more! :))))

I was in Vienna for the weekend and I am so happy we met again! I was also so grateful to find out that she barely changed! She has this positive attitude towards life and people, and she charged me so well for another time! I wish we meet again soon!!
And I feel the same way about all the friends I made in Madrid!
Virtual hugs and kisses to all of you! :)))))))

Day 115: Happy birthday, Mommy!

Happy birthday to my mommy! May she keep her great smile many years more!

Nikon D60, 18-55mm.

Day 114: Portrait of Mihail

Misho is one of my favorite mini models. He's handsome, and stylish, and can greet you in English and German. He's also artistic, curious and extremely energetic, and did I mention he is only 3?
As you can notice, he has the looks, and by the way, he knows how to use them already :))))
I have the pleasure to be close friends with his mommy and she would let me photograph him whenever wherever :))) So, stay tuned for more of this young gentleman!

Nikon D700, 50mm.

Day 113: Portrait of Patrisia

Here she is again! I love taking her photos, I love spending time editing them, she's just so much worth it!!

She was sort of in a bad mood that day, which I couldn't regret more, but as I worked on the photos I actually like how some of them came out.

Isn't it amazing how much Patrisia can express just by using her eyes?! I can't wait to see her growing up...and I can't help but wonder..can she get any prettier? :)))

Nikon D700, 50mm.

Day 112: Portrait of Altanay

Well, this one was a real challenge. I was told he was rather new to the group and that's probably why he was really easy to upset. Whenever I put my camera up he would start bursting into tears...It's one of those moments when you don't know what to do...I managed to make him smile a couple of times, but never with the camera on...
In this photo he is far from smiling, but he is not crying either :)))

Nikon D700, 50mm.

Day 111: Portrait of Monika

Monika is a cute little redhead lady. She can change so many expressions in a second! :)))

Nikon D700, 50mm.

Day 110: Portrait of Milinka

Milinka was the youngest of them all :)) But she has some of the biggest brown eyes!

Nikon D700, 50mm.

Day 109: Portrait of Plamen

Plamen is a brave little gentleman. I simply asked him to help me make a photo for his mommy and he stood there, holding up the bouquet straight and acting cool.
I'm sure his mom was very proud!

Nikon D700, 50mm.

Day 108: Portrait of Margaritka

Margaritka is just lovely :) When I asked out loud "Who want's to go first?" she was undoubtedly going for it! She made me feel so much at home with her positive responses all the time. She was the first one to shoot, she was also one of the most cooperative kids in the room, and on every new shot she was standing beside me commenting on all the photos I showed her on the screen!
When she grows up, I hope she wants to be my assistant :)))

Nikon D700, 50mm.

Day 107: Portrait of Joana

Joana is the charming one. Those deep brown eyes with their warmth and kindness...priceless!

Nikon D700, 50mm.

Day 106: Portrait of Tedislava

Tedi is as cute and sweet as a cupcake!
She reminds me of one of my best friends when she was 3 :)))) Loving that little bunny!

Nikon D700, 50mm.

Day 105: Portrait of Kristina

Kristina is very pretty, and a little shy, but she's hiding it with the confidence of an adult :)

Nikon D700, 50mm.

Day 104: Portrait of Tanaya

Tanaya is a pretty little girl, a real missy with a model attitude :)

Nikon D700, 50mm

Day 103: Portrait of Liliya

In my previous two posts I talked about the portraits I did for a group of children in a kindergarten in Sevlievo. Here's the portraits we got that day :))

Liliya looks just like her name - she is a real flower already :))

Nikon D700, 50mm.

Day 102: the TV hour

When I arrived at the kindergarten those little cuties were scattered all around the room. They were like little bugs crawling around, almost bumping into each other, everyone's attention dragged towards a different direction.

A few minutes later, one of the daycare ladies turned on the TV and played some educational animation. I can't describe how fast it caught their attention. They all went over to sit down in a straight row and watch it altogether. They didn't need any help or invitation.

Here's a snapshot of that disciplined group of young TV fans.

Nikon D700, 50mm.

Day 101: peek-a-boo

At the end of February I did a portrait session for some cute little boys and girls at a kindergarten in my hometown. The purpose of the photos was to make Mother's day cards for the mommies for the 8th of March.

Before we started with the portraits I took a couple of photos just as I arrived, and I love the sincerity of the moments I captured. I would love doing that again and again...

Children are full of this pure energy, and they have so much to share with us :))))))

Nikon D700, 50mm.

Day 100: Tsvetina ♥

My very special 100 photo blog post is devoted to an adorable baby girl who just turned one month several days ago!

She is so tiny, and tender, and soft...I just want to squeeze her all day long =))))))))

I already shot her while in her mommy's tummy in January - check out the blog post called Day 30 - Mama-to-be

Ladies and gentlemen, meet my youngest girlfriend - Tsveti ♥
