Krem Ivanova Portrait: ♥ a photo per day ♥

I created my blog with this photo challenge in mind. My aim was to get better with photography, to keep pushing myself doing more and more each day and get where I am today. I am truly grateful for all the support and encouragement I got on the way here.

In late 2010 I got my Nikon D700 with a 50mm 1.4, and this is where the real photo journey began for me.

The a photo per day challenge kept me on track with practicing my skills, let me freely experiment every new skill I learned, kept me intrigued for more, and most importantly - looking back I cherish every moment it helped me to save for all time. It is a hard challenge because of everything else going on around you and the limitations of time, but it is so much worth it. This project, although this was never my intention, got me my first photography jobs. This is why I will always be sentimental about it, and would never delete a single part of it. I hope my steps would motivate at least one person to go out there and do this. Great moments happen just once in a lifetime, make sure you make the best of it.

THE CHALLENGE

I photo-challenge myself as of today!

I've been spending most of my free time lately reading books and articles, as well as watching online tutorials on how to improve my photography, but I got so carried away by all the information I gathered that I simply didn't have the time to really take advantage of it all. Moreover, as a result I had to cut on things I used to enjoy doing before that do not involve spending the day on a chair. So I decided I needed some structure on a daily basis and here's how I plan to do it.

As of today I am going to be posting a new photo every day, I would be trying new techniques of shooting and post-processing and see how far I get with time. I am planning to have fun, fun, and only fun with this task.
I would not limit myself by any other rule but that of posting a brand new photo each day.

In the next 28 posts you will find photos and stories inspired by the 1-month Photography Challenge designed by Kelly Willette for the month of February 2011. At this point I was just starting with my blog and I needed some kind of schedule to follow in order to keep myself inspired and motivated to complete everything on time. Looking back at those posts I am so glad I did this. I captured, collected and retold all the stories about the people and things I love in my life.I left myself a priceless memory thread to go back to whenever I need it.
